Magic Books

The Magic Community has made significant strides in the effective use of the internet.  The sole purpose of this page is to offer links to the highest-caliber magic resources available in one location.  If it succeeds in that endeavor to even a small degree, Ill be quite content.  To that end, every entity listed below is qualified either by my own personal, first-hand experience and/or knowledge, or by the first-hand experience and/or knowledge of a trusted friend in the magic community.

Magic Venues

Magic Castle   (Los Angeles)
Magic Island   (Houston)

Magic Dealers
(Limited to Dealers with whom I’ve had satisfactory experiences or are recommended by a trusted associate.)

Denny & Lee Magic Studio “Where the Pros Shop” (Baltimore)
Very few—if any—magic shops compare to Denny & Lee’s combination of understated class, friendly atmosphere, knowledgeable staff, quality standards and rich variety in apparatus, literature, and guest lecturers.
Hank Lee’s Magic Factory (Massachusetts)
If Denny doesn’t have it, Hank probably does.  Knowledgeable help, prompt service, and an extensive inventory of effects, supplies, books, and videos.
Meir Yedid Magic “For Magicians Only” (New Jersey)
Unique resources for the serious magician, including videos from 50+ prominent performers.  Meir Yedid manufactures or distributes every item featured.  Prompt, professional service.
Louis Tannen Inc. (New York)
With a rich historical tradition, Tannen’s remains one of the world’s classic and best stocked resources for the magic community.  Fair prices and excellent service.
Frankel’s Costume (Houston, Texas)  Frankel’s Magic Counter, now featuring Scott Hollingsworth at the helm, extends a warm welcome (especially in the summer!) plus sound advice and a fair price.
H&R Magic Bookshop (Humble, Texas)
I’m not aware of a more comprehensive inventory of magic literature (books, videos, CDs and DVDs)—both new and used, or a more knowledgeable and friendly staff.
Zauberladen Zürich (Zürich, Switzerland)
I can’t help but include a classy resource in the land of my ancestors.  (The Swiss have an uncanny appreciation for the performing arts.)  Nit nur zum schaufaischterbummeln!
Mario Carrandi Magic Vintage Apparatus & Memorabilia (New Jersey)
TrickShop (Illinois)
Magic Max! (Florida)
